Product Overview
GigE Icon HD-GigE: HD compression codec and IP Video gateway

The HD-GigE™ IP Gateway transports HD-SDI/SD-SDI/DVB-ASI signals over IP networks and offers a cost effective alternative to traditional video transport services. The flexible, HD intraframe compression codec produces a high quality video signal that can be transported over Gigabit Ethernet networks. Standard Definition and ASI signals are automatically detected and passed through transparently.

Image HD270 Coax: HD Compression Codec for 270Mbps Transport Circuits

The HD270 Coax™ compression and transport of HD-SDI signals over 270Mbps circuits with outstanding video quality at incredibly low latency. By utilizing field by field encoding, the entire codec process adds less than 10 milliseconds of end-to-end delay.

Image The MD8000:

The MD8000 Media Transport System provides an unprecedented level of fl exibility in content networking systems. No longer will users be faced with choosing between today’s widely available, high-reliability SONET/SDH network and tomorrow’s low cost, high-performance IP Core based systems. The MD8000 is designed to work transparently in both environments, even supporting simultaneous interconnections between both networking technologies to maximize media connectivity.

Image MD-101 Product Series

The MD-101 Processing Product series is a group of unique, small footprint, field-ready devices that are portable and can be battery operated.

Image MD-003 1RU: Hybrid Frame

The MD-003 1RU™ hybrid frame supports both Media Links MD2000™ series signal processing modules and MD-003 optical video transport modules, making it the most versatile frame available. Two slots are available for signal processing which include the HD-270 Coax Compression Code for 270Mbps transport circuits, the HD-GigE Video IP Gateway, and Media Links full suite of HD and SD analog/digital up and down converters, frame synchronizers and audio embedders and de-embedders.

Image MD-003 3RU: Multi Frame

The MD-003 3RU™ frame provides a complete multi-channel, multi-service transport solution. This compact unit integrates video/data to fiber transmitters and receivers, in-band network management, CWDM or DWDM multiplexing and fiber protection switching into a single frame system. The use of internal, modular plug-in fiber connectors eliminates multiple frames, external fiber patch cords and patch panels and provides an extremely robust solution.

Image MD-003STM: STM-1/OC3 Transmitter and Receiver

Combining standard telecomm signals with uncompressed video transport has never been easier than with the MD-003 series from Media Links. With the MD-003 STM-1 TX and STM-1 RX, both SONET and SDH signals can easily be transported alongside a variety of video formats. Through the use of optical Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM), multiple signals can be combined onto a single fiber with no interdependency, and each will arrive intact at the far end of the link because of forward error correction on every circuit.

Image MD-2U-4001: HD Up Converter with Analog to Digital Conversion

The MD-2U-4001 Upconverter provides high quality conversion of NTSC composite (EIA-RS170A) signals or SD-SDI (SMPTE259M) signals to the common HD-SDI (SMPTE292M) video format. Two AES/EBU digital audio, two channels of analog audio and the embedded SD audio can be selected and embedded into the HD-SDI output.

Image MD-2U-4002: HD Down Converter with Digital to Analog Conversion

The MD-2U-4002 provides high quality down conversion of HD-SDI (SMPTE 292M) signals and supplies two simultaneous output signals: an NTSC composite (EIA-RS170A) and an SD-SDI (SMPTE259M). Through the use of robust 32 tap FIR vertical and horizontal fi lters and 10-bit video resolution, Media Links can ensure the utmost level of video performance.

Image MD-003ETH: 4-channel Ethernet Transceivers

Modern video installations depend on high-quality, high-speed data communications almost as much as they depend on video circuits. With the MD-003 E-TXRX and E-RXTX card set installed in an MD-003 chassis, many different types of Ethernet and IP traffic can easily be supported.

Image MD-003GETR: 4 Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch with Optical Uplink

The MD-003 GETR 4-Port Gigabit Ethernet Transceiver provides a cost effective, robust single card solution for converged broadcast network needs. This video-aware, layer 2 Ethernet switch manages bandwidth for multiple input ports, allowing a single high speed optical Gigabit Ethernet link to be intelligently managed. Video signals are given priority whenever they are active, while data can be transported on the remaining bandwidth. When the video signals are removed, data bandwidth is automatically increased.

Image MD-003VidMod: Universal Video Interface

For point-to-point fiber optic connections, there is no better choice than the MD-003 series from Media Links. These units are easy to install, provide a range of signal interfaces, and provide error correction and status monitoring for every signal. The MD-003 Universal Video interface is a key part of this system, providing a single optical TX/RX card set for all types of video signals.

Image The MD2000: 2RU HD Processing System

The MD2000 HD processing system comes with a 16 slot, 2RU frame and supports a variety of high performance signal processing modules. All modules are hot swappable and independent of the rear I/O modules which allows for easy maintenance. The frame also supports hot swappable primary and seconday power supplies and a controller card for SNMP management.

Image MD6000: High Performance Video Transport System

The MD6000™ provides high performance video transport system over SDH/SONET Networks. Advanced technologies, including error correction, hitless protection switching, and differential delay adaptation allow flawless transport of the most demanding types of video signals.
