The MD-2U-4002 provides high quality down conversion of HD-SDI (SMPTE 292M) signals and supplies two simultaneous output signals: an NTSC composite (EIA-RS170A) and an SD-SDI (SMPTE259M). Through the use of robust 32 tap FIR vertical and horizontal fi lters and 10-bit video resolution, Media Links can ensure the utmost level of video performance.
Video processing features include a built in frame synchronizer with audio with audio sample rate conversion and aspect ratio conversion. Other video processing controls include vertical and horizontal detail enhancement, per-channel component and composite gain control, pedestal level, hue phase control and black+white clip levels.
Advanced audio processing capabilities also featured in the MD-2U-4002 include 48kHz/24 bit audio sampling, per-channel audio delay and gain control. The built-in stereo mix-down circuit takes up to six channels of audio and
produces a precisely calibrated stereo pair under complete user control.
The MD-2U-4002 Down Converter resides in the MD2000 Series Multipurpose Frames and the MD-003 1RU Hybrid Frame. Dual redundant power
supplies and controller card with remote management software ensures that the system can be controlled and monitored locally and remotely. The MD2000 Series Frames are available as 16 slot/2RU chassis, 2 slot/1RU half rack chassis and 4 slot/1RU MD-003 hybrid chassis (houses up to two MD2000 Series and two MD-003 Series modules.)
