Major U.S. Broadcaster chooses Media Links HD270 Coax
Milford, CT- Media Links Inc., today proudly announced the selection of it’s HD270 COAX product by a major U.S. Broadcaster for the transmission of programming in HD format from it’s headquarters to various hub cities across the United States. The HD270 Coax product offers the best value solution in the market for broadcasters handling High Definition TV (HDTV) transmission over wide area networks. Media Links’ HD270 Coax compresses 1.485 Gigabit/sec HDTV signals down to 270 Megabit/sec for transport and converts them back to full HDTV resolution for viewing. This allows broadcasters to utilize existing SD infrastructures to transport HDTV signals without investing in higher bandwidth networks.

The extremely low end to end transmission delay and the high video quality of the HD270 Coax were the attributes that weighed in the decision to choose Media Links’ solution.

Traditional MPEG encoding equipment uses a higher compression which results in lower video quality and a transmission delay of several seconds. The HD270Coax can transmit signals in less than 10ms of processing delay while preserving unequaled picture quality.

“This is an important milestone for Media Links. We are pleased to be the solution of choice for such a critical application.” Said Mario Frattaroli, president of Media Links, Inc.
