IBC, Amsterdam- Media Links displays HD video delivery system utilized for 2006 FIFA™ World Cup.
The MD6000 HDTV Transport System was on display at the Media Links booth in the Amsterdam RAI from September 8th -12th. Featured at the booth was a live demonstration showing how the system utilizes IP technology to deliver uncompressed HD over SDH networks without producing a single video error. Media Links also previewed the MD6100R 320Gbps IP Video Router which will be released in 2007.
The MD6100R features uncompressed HD, SD, DVB-ASI video routing over IP networks and a centralized network scheduling and booking system. At the “HD We Get The Big Picture” session on Thursday, Media Links presented a paper titled, “Uncompressed HD Delivery for World Cup”, which outlined the technology behind the MD6000 and how it was utilized for the delivery of all uncompressed HD and SD signals from the 12 venues across Germany back to the International Broadcast Center in Munich and worked flawlessly for all 31 days of the tournament without a single video transport error.
