Management Software
OSS has a significant role in providing and managing QoS in the network. Provisioning and service selection must be accomplished in a planned view ahead of the actual event in order to reserve the bandwidth so it is available at the time of the event. In Media Links networks, service bandwidth, as well as the service start, stop and duration, are reserved ahead of the actual event. Path selection is made on routes according to predetermined priorities, however if a specific path or route is full then an alternative will be selected. Interface to booking and billing can also be provided via the scheduling system.Media Links offers several options for Management Software:
- Navinet SNMP Status Monitoring and Fault Management
- MDPro Provisioning Tool with graphical user interface
- MDPro NMS with Service Profiles, Switch Panel, Trap Collection and Fault Management
- Copenhagen Edge Equipment Scheduling System
- Third Party Scheduling and Booking Systems
Navinet SNMP Trap Collection Fault Manager
Navinet SNMP Trap Collection Fault Manager provides an overall network management platform that can monitor all Media Links products as well as third party products through SNMP polling and trap collection. In addition it can manage equipment via SNMP commands and macros as well as starting individual equipment's internal web browsers for more graphical user control.MDPro Provisioning Tool
MDPro Provisioning Tool is a simple to use graphical user interface for MD8000 that shows the MD8000 system in shelf view and allows a user to monitor and provision the shelf. LED status for all modules is displayed.MDPro NMS is a status monitoring and fault management system for Media Links network equipment that includes service profile provisioning and assignment to a graphical and hardware switch panel. This can provide a user with a switching control experience similar to using a cross point video switch control panel.
