HD World, New York City- Media Links demonstrates HD compression codec for 270Mbps transport service
The Media Links booth at the Javitz Convention Center featured the HD 270 Coax – HD compression codec for HD video transport applications over 270Mbps SD-SDI circuits.
Media Links’ HD270 Coax compresses 1.485 Gigabit/sec HDTV signals down to 270 Megabit/sec for transport and converts them back to full HDTV resolution for viewing. This allows broadcasters to utilize existing SD infrastructures to transport HDTV signals without investing in higher bandwidth networks.
Key features include low end to end delay, Forward Error Correction and SNMP management.
